ABSTRACT: Innovations in Promoting Sustainability Practices in Vocational Training explores new approaches and strategies to integrate sustainable development goals (SDGs) into vocational education programs. This study investigates innovative practices that promote environmental consciousness, sustainable practices, and green skills among vocational students. The objectives were: to identify current initiatives promoting sustainability in vocational training, to analyze the impact of sustainability practices on vocational education outcomes, and to propose innovative strategies for embedding sustainability into vocational curricula. A survey research design was employed to collect data from vocational educators, industry experts, and environmental advocates, providing insights into current practices and perceptions related to sustainability in vocational education. A sample size of 250 respondents was purposively selected to include stakeholders from vocational institutions and environmental organizations in Ekiti State, Nigeria, known for their initiatives in sustainable vocational education. The case study focused on a vocational center in Ado-Ekiti, highlighting successful integration of sustainable practices and their impact on student learning and community engagement. Findings indicated that incorporating sustainability into vocational training enhanced student awareness of environmental issues, promoted sustainable behavior change, and prepared students for green careers. It is recommended that vocational institutions should develop interdisciplinary sustainability modules, engage students in community-based projects, collaborate with environmental organizations and industry partners, and advocate for policy support to mainstream sustainability practices in vocational training.
